ZIMBABWE’s cricketers will return to action in Bulawayo next week when they face Namibia in a three-match Twenty20 series at Queens Sports Club.
The games, scheduled for 15, 16 and 18 September, come just before the ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in Harare, making them vital for both teams.
Fans can attend the matches for free, while the players will use the series to fine-tune their plans and combinations ahead of the qualifiers.
Head coach Justin Sammons said the team wants to build on their strong showing against Sri Lanka despite losing that series 2-1.
“It’s important that we build on the positives from the Sri Lanka series,” Sammons said.
“Namibia are a strong team, so these games will help us prepare and give us belief before the qualifier.”
Sikandar Raza leads an unchanged squad that mixes experienced names like Sean Williams, Brendan Taylor and Blessing Muzarabani with rising players such as Tadiwanashe Marumani and Dion Myers.
