Cricket Uganda has paid tribute to outgoing head coach Abhay Sharma, whose tenure from April 2024 to October 2025 marked one of the most successful chapters in the nation’s cricketing history.

Sharma, a highly respected figure in coaching circles, guided the Cricket Cranes to several landmark achievements during his time in charge. Most notably, he steered Uganda to their maiden appearance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, a milestone that placed the country firmly on the global cricketing map.

Beyond the World Cup, Sharma oversaw Uganda’s dominant run in Challenge League B and orchestrated a string of memorable victories on international tours, earning the side both confidence and recognition.

As he departs, the board extended its best wishes to Sharma for his future endeavors, with players and fans alike acknowledging the pivotal role he played in elevating the standards and ambitions of Ugandan cricket.
