HARARE- GHETTO Boys Takashinga Patriots 1 and Gladiators Cricket Club square off in the battle of High-density cricket suburbs at the Qualifier 2 stage for a place in the final of the NPL T20 Blast at Harare Sports Club on Friday evening.
Patriots 1 succumbed to a five-wicket defeat against fellow Harare side SOGO Rangers in the Qualifier 1 encounter played in the afternoon.
Gladiators emerged seven-wicket victors over Westside Cricket Club chasing down Manicaland side’s 168/9 with an over to spare as they reached 169/3. Left-hander scored an unbeaten 56 off 36 balls while Lennox Chando, 47, Panashe Taruvinga (33), and Ashley Mufandauya 17 not out all chipped in with vital contributions with the bat.
Nigel Bonyongwe top-scored for Westside with 58, Tinashe Chiorah (46) and Clive Chitumba (38), albeit in defeat as Cromen Zinyama picked three wickets for 33 runs from four overs and Masimba Marovatsanga claimed two scalps.
