
DEFENDING champions SOGO Rangers celebrated their first win in style after hammering Queens 1 Sports Club by 95 runs in the NPL T20 Blast at Kwekwe Sports Club on Saturday.
After being sent in to bat, Rangers scored 196 for four in their 20 overs. Opener Matthew Campbell anchored the innings with a classy 68 off 45 balls, striking nine boundaries and a six. He was well supported by Jayden Schadendorf, who blazed 39 from just 20 balls to give Rangers a flying start in the powerplay.
Jonathan Campbell’s quickfire 23 off 11 and Matthew Welch’s unbeaten 37 off 28 kept the scoreboard racing as Rangers closed in on 200.
Queens’ bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Hugh Bvute (1 for 28) and Petros Sithole (1 for 33) the only wicket
