Nigera’s Edo State Breaks Ground on New Cricket Indoor Training Facility

THE  President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation  Dr. Uyi Akpata and Chairman of the Edo State Cricket Association led delegates to break ground for the Edo State Cricket Indoor Training Facility on Sunday at Edo Boys High School, Ugbowo Benin City.

The new facility is set to advance cricket development in Edo State and across Nigeria.

The ceremony drew a strong turnout, including the Edo State Commissioner for Sports, members of the Edo State House of Representatives, the Director of Sports, officials from the Edo State Sports Commission, the Edo State Education Board, and school principals.

The project marks a bold commitment to nurturing talent, excellence, and innovation in Nigerian cricket. The facility will provide aspiring cricketers with world-class indoor training opportunities, helping to raise the standard of the sport at both school and state levels.

Officials described the groundbreaking as a key milestone in the growth of cricket in Edo State, highlighting its potential to serve as a model for cricket development nationwide.
