Mukuru backs Zimbabwe’s World Cup dream with renewed Chevrons sponsorship

ZIMBABWE’s journey towards hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 has received another significant boost after Mukuru renewed its partnership with Zimbabwe Cricket, reaffirming its support for the Chevrons and their growing ambitions on the world stage.
The financial services platform will continue as the national team’s front-of-jersey sponsor across all international formats until the end of 2027, ensuring its presence throughout Zimbabwe’s build-up to the country’s biggest cricket event in decades.
While the partnership keeps the Mukuru brand visible on the field, both organisations say its greatest impact lies beyond the boundary ropes.
The renewed agreement aims to deepen engagement with supporters, celebrate Zimbabwean success stories and strengthen connections with cricket fans both at home and within the global Zimbabwean diaspora.
“This renewal is about more than sponsorship visibility. It is about investing in a partnership that brings communities together, celebrates Zimbabwean excellence and creates meaningful connections with fans,” said Mukuru spokesperson Kevin Nyakotyo.
“Zimbabwe has been part of Mukuru’s story for more than two decades, and this partnership reflects our confidence in the country’s future. Cricket has a unique ability to unite people across borders, aligning perfectly with Mukuru’s purpose of connecting communities through trusted financial services.”
Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni welcomed the continued partnership, saying it arrives at a crucial stage in the country’s preparations for the 2027 World Cup.
“Their continued support comes at a defining moment for Zimbabwean cricket as we build towards hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027,” Makoni said.
“This renewed commitment gives us confidence to continue investing in the game, strengthening our national teams and creating memorable experiences for our supporters, while showcasing Zimbabwe on one of cricket’s biggest stages.”
Having first joined forces in 2024, Mukuru and Zimbabwe Cricket are now extending a relationship built on shared ambition, with both organisations looking to inspire the next generation of cricketers while helping showcase Zimbabwe to a global audience when the World Cup arrives in 2027.
